Thursday May 13

Seriously crazy that it's already Thursday. Going to class this morning I was thinking how it was only our third day of class but that we've actually been here much longer. Time has really already gone by so fast and before you know it I'll miserably be back on a plane to come home.

But class was so long this morning for some reason. I really can't even remember what our first lecture was about...could do in part to me doing other work while he was talking about I think different fungi and diseases. First time I brought my computer. Complete life saver. At least typing up something keeps me awake. For the first hour, it's a struggle. And then it gets a little easier some mornings. But it's a little nerving that we have our first exam on Saturday morning...Caroline and I desperately need to study.

Spent the afternoon around the dorms. Did some catching up and took some pictures around the garden. We have lab in about an hour. Today we're tasting international red wines. And Caroline and I planned accordingly to not go to lunch because you really do have to eat when tasting in the afternoon around four, and then again at dinner.

Four or five people from our group and Daniel came and hung out in our room after they went and had lunch. It was so beautiful out (though still a little cold to my liking...I've gone through all my pairs of jeans already that I brought, and not a pair of shorts or a skirt yet) and with our doors open, and the sun finally shinning, it was amazing. Complete perfection.

After our class tasting, there's a free wine tasting in the city that we're going to go check out. I can't wait to see if the people of Cortona really do enjoy doing wine tastings. I'm going to look to professional with my black wine journal. Or just really stand out.

And then after dinner we have a modern dance performance that a lot of us are going to check out. Not sure what to expect there - from the look of the posters we've seen around town, should be pretty interesting.

We have our first field trip tomorrow. So pumped. We're off to a wine and oil museum in Assisi I believe. It will be nice to get to do some things outside of Cortona.

Please tell me I'll get to stomp grapes with my bare feet....
